Facial Filler Specialist

What are Dermal or Facial Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are materials injected under the skin that are used to fill in wrinkled areas of the skin surface to give you a plumper and more attractive look. They can be used to add volume to the cheeks and lips and also improve the appearance of scars. Dr. Obayan uses naturally occurring Hyaluronic acid, produced by your body as a natural water retainer.

How long do Dermal fillers last?

Depending on the type of filler used, Hyaluronic acid fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. They are an excellent alternative to Botox, having the added advantage that they last longer than Botox injections.

Do fillers cause pain?

Patients do experience some pain with different fillers; however, the Hyaluronic acid used by Dr. Obayan contains the local anaesthetic, lidocaine, so most patients experience minor levels of pain.

What are the risks or side effects of Fillers?

The most common side effects occur around the areas that were injected and include:

  •      Swelling
  •     Bruising
  •      Itching
  •      Skin discoloration
  •      Allergic reaction

Most of these symptoms tend to resolve in a few days; Dr. Obayan has extensive experience with fillers and will work closely with you to minimize the occurrence of these side effects.

What are the benefits of Fillers like Hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance in the body and has many benefits going beyond wrinkle treatment. It is known to aid in rapid healing and some studies have shown that hyaluronic acid fillers can induce the body to produce it’s own collagen.

How much do Fillers Cost?

The cost of a single unit of filler is about $650.
