Q: What is a Facial?

A: Facials are designed to improve the skin along the face, neck, and décolleté. Most facials consist of a multi-step process that cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin to help keep the skin looking and feeling its best. Facials can also help reverse signs of aging by smoothing fine lines or wrinkles, hydrating the skin, boosting collagen production, and removing old (dead) upper skin layers.

Medical-grade facials are designed to treat targeted medical concerns such as acne or pigmentation. The formulations of medical facials are generally more powerful than a day spa treatment as they contain high levels of active ingredients. This enables them to yield longer-lasting and more dramatic results. Due to their strength, medical-grade facials need to be administered under the care of a licensed skincare professional or aesthetician.

Q: Which type of Facial is right for me?

A: The procedure doesn’t require incisions and passes the most stringent safety requirements. With every session, there is a visible reduction in the amount of scarring and fine lines. Laser Genesis is a safe and effective method to undo the damage the skin accumulates over time.

Given the advanced technology that powers the treatment, the procedure can be done comfortably without the application of any anesthetic agent.

Q1: What is an Aesthetician?

Aestheticians, also known as skincare specialists, clean skin through skin exfoliation, massage, aromatherapy, and facials. They also analyze skin to identify any health problems and temporarily remove hair. In addition to skin health, some aestheticians have a cosmetic focus and may apply makeup and consult individuals on the best products for their skin type.

Q2: What can our Aesthetician do?

Nature of Skin’s Aesthetician performs treatment relating to the skin such as intense pulsed light, laser, and light-based procedures, microdermabrasion, superficial chemical peels, and other advanced beauty and cosmetic treatments. Generally speaking, an experienced aesthetician can help you love the skin you’re in.

Q3: When do I go to an Aesthetician?

Patients who start by seeing a dermatologist for assessment and treatment of acne or other skin conditions may then visit an aesthetician for maintenance, such as facials, chemical peels, or laser treatments.

Q4: How long does it take to be a medical Aesthetician?

An Aesthetician completes a Formal Course of Study or Apprenticeship. The practice requirements generally range from 300 to 750 hours. In Texas, students must complete a program of at least 750 hours.
